In Volhynia, the first platform for overall and weight control of trucks at the Tsumansky intersection of the Rivne-Lutsk highway has become operational.
The stationary system has been operating since April 26, 2021.
Up to 40 vans can be weighed per shift at this point, vehicle data is stored in the system, and the weighing parameters are printed on the spot.
The maximum weight of the truck should not exceed 40 tons. The Italian weight has an error of up to 2%. To determine the axle load and total weight, the car must drive through the weight.
On the first day of work with this weight, inspectors discovered an overload with a total weight of 45 tons. However, drivers already know that there is a weight control point here, and try to avoid responsibility by bypassing the point by other routes.
In total, two systems for weighing transport in motion were installed in the region: on the roads from Lutsk to Kovel and from Volodymyr-Volynskyi to Novovolynsk. According to Yury Ryshkevich, deputy of the Road Service in the region, they are currently undergoing standardization and certification.
If the parliament passes laws for their use, the new systems will be operational already this year. According to the official, a tender was announced for the installation of two more systems. It is about the object in the area of the Manevytskyi intersection on the M-07 highway, the cost of which is 16 million hryvnias. Another system of dimensional and weight control is planned to be installed as part of the current average repair beyond Kolka, in order to make it impossible for trucks to bypass this section of the road.
In addition to the Tsumanskyi intersection, the mobile weighing complex of Oblavtodor is operating, says senior inspector of Ukrtransbezpeka Vyacheslav Kozlov. Three similar ones were sent to the capital last year and have not yet been returned to the region.
During three days of work, inspectors found two violators. It is currently unknown whether Volyn will receive additional weight complexes.
